If you have questions about the Pals for pALS task request application, please read through our Frequently Asked Questions before contacting Pals for pALS. If you have additional questions that are not answered on this page, please send an email with your question to faq@palsforpals.org
Does my family have too much household income to qualify for a grant?
We put significant emphasis on income when making grant decisions, but we also realize that one’s family situation is not always explained by a number. This is why we ask for a description of family situation in item the application. Families with annual household incomes below $75,000.00 will be considered first, but we do not automatically disqualify applicants because of incomes in excess of the $75,000.00 annual threshold.
Will I need to provide Pals for pALS with documentation about my income?
Pals for pALS may request such documentation as a condition for approval of a task request application.
Can I request more than one task?
Yes. We will attempt to find volunteers for each of your requested tasks. However, we may not be able fund multiple paid service tasks in an effort to help more families.
If a task requires a paid service, can I request the organization that performs the task?
Yes, you may make a request, but we will not be bound by that request. We will find the most economical organization to perform the task.
How often can I apply or receive a task request?
A family or individual may apply for task assistance as often as they want. If a volunteer can be found to perform the task, it will be done. If paid services are required to complete the task, another may not be awarded based on funds available.
I do not live in the greater Cincinnati area, can I apply?
Grants are only awarded to families living in the Cincinnati area at this time. Hopefully, at a future date, we will be able to expand to other areas.
Are tasks awarded to individuals who do not have ALS?
No, Pals for pALS is dedicated to helping those families with an ALS diagnosis.
